10/3/09

Structure Fire

 

Company 3 was dispatched in the early evening to Harbor Lake Drive for a possible structure fire. Upon arrival crews found a pot on the stove where the fire had been put out by an automatic extinguishing system. The apartment was ventilated utilizing a PPV fan and the vent fan above the stove was disconnected.

Structure Fire

 

Company 3 was dispatched in the mid-afternoon for a working structure fire in Sunrise Mobile Home Park. Upon arrival of the first engine it was confirmed there was a working fire in the rear of the mobile home. A 1 ¾” line was stretched to the back bedroom, the utilities were secured, and a primary search was completed. Second due engine established a water supply, while the attack team extinguished the fire. Ventilation was done utilizing a PPV fan. Salvage and overhaul of the bedroom and adjoining bathroom were completed. The American Red Cross was dispatched to assist the residents.

Vehicle Accident with Entrapment

 

Company 3 was dispatched about 2100 hours to a motor vehicle accident, overturned with entrapment on Bushy Park Road. Upon arrival crews found a single overturned vehicle off the road into the tree line with two patients entrapped. A chainsaw was used to remove trees from around the vehicle to allow patient access. Once access was gained a door was removed and air bags were used to extricate both patients. Patients were then taken to local hospitals via helicopter. Company 5 (Pimlico Volunteer Fire Department) was called to established and manage the helicopter landing zone.

Vehicle Fire

 

Company 3 was dispatched early this morning for a vehicle fire on Liberty Hall Road. Upon arrival crew found a small engine compartment fire that was extinguished quickly.

Playhouse on Fire

 

Company 3 was dispatched early in the morning to Harbor Lake Drive for a playhouse on fire at the playground. Upon arrival crew found a small playhouse on fire. Fire was extinguished.
